Since 2012

I manage a small team of individuals to deliver new products & services for UGX-Mods. Over the years we tried different techniques and solutions, but sticked with the Atlassian tools which covers our needs. We tried a lot of communication tools and use Discord atm, as it's a great tool for internal and external communication with the community.

Project Information

I use Jira & Confluence since 2013. In 2024 we moved to the Cloud (due to discontinued server versions for small teams)

Thanks to Agile SCRUM / Kanban I know exactly how well the projects go.

The move to these tools in 2013 helped UGX-Mods to stay in touch across multiple continents, plan and achieve their vision for their product(s) and service(s).

Documentation

Internal documentation with Confluence.

  • Developer documentation to explain systems, discuss new features and document setup
  • Staff documentation with onboarding guide and other helpful resources
  • IT Documentation to get a quick overview about the infrastructure and lots of documentation for each service (install, update, backup, etc.)

Communication

Team realtime communication with Discord across different timezones.

Project Management & Agile Development

Project Management with Jira, Source Code Management with GitLab (git)

  • Mostly Kanban, due to the nature of available time and broad projects
